When a student joins FS Bands in Middle or High School, their parent / guardian instantaneously becomes a Band Booster!  Boosters support Music Education in our community and state by contributing to the musicians and performers in our Band Program. That means attending concerts, festivals, football halftime shows, parades, fundraising events, and monthly Booster meetings. Boosters volunteer their time and energy to promote and assure the success of their student, our Band Program, the legacy of all FS Band students, and the future of those to come. They have a say in how and where funds are spent and create opportunities to improve the program.

FS Band Boosters carpool members to and from practices, facilitate Band Camps and the annual FS Marching Invitational at FSHS, host fundraisers, caravan to competitions, pull equipment trailers, wash uniforms, and so much more. We call our Band Program a "Band Family" and that is due in large part to the supportive Boosters that go above and beyond for the love of their students and every band member. The saying "it takes a village" can be seen in action through our Boosters!

FS Bands is one of the largest students groups in Simpson County Schools. Staying up to date on all the happenings of our many ensembles takes dedicated intention.  Part of that is getting together to touch base as a group and plan ahead. The second Thursday of every month Booster Meetings take place in  the FSHS Band Room.  Topics discussed at these meetings range from  upcoming budget allocations to event preparations, fundraising ideas, recruitment, and retention efforts. There are multiple committees in need of volunteers for anyone that would like to get even more involved. Booster Officers in collaboration with Band Directors manage, operate, promote, and represent the FS Band Program. Annual Booster Officer elections are held each May for the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations Director. Nominations are accepted in April and voting is open to all active members in May. A new board is then announced and activated for the term of the new school year. 

In order to chaperone FS Band events or travel on our school buses, please submit the District Volunteer Application as required by our School Board. Approval is necessary before participating in any activity involving Franklin-Simpson students and lasts for three years. Click HERE to access the District Volunteer Application and submit it to the proper department.
