
Awards and Accomplishments


Marching Band
During the 2022 season we competed in 4 competetions. We compete in KMEA (Kentucky Music Educators Association) in class 3A. Classes are determined by the size of your school and the size of your band program.

Winterguard
Our Winterguard team moved up from the Novice class in SCGC (Southern Colorguard Circuit) to SRAA this year. The practiced countless hours starting in Navember. Their first competition was on Saturday January 21. They competed 5 more times during the 2023 season. Placing second in their class three times, first in their class twice and third in their class at championships.








Individual Achievements
For the 22-23 school year we had so many students accomplish so much.

Eight students participated in WKU jazz honors band.

We sent twelve students to Solo and Ensemble with six achieving a proficient rating, five achieving a distinguished rating and one receiving a distinguished plus rating.

We sent three students to the West Kentucky Percussion Festival.

We sent eight students to MSU Quad state band.
-
We had one placing as an alternate for MSU Quad State band.
-
We sent one student to the KMEA all state band.


KMEA
The entire concert band participated in the KMEA concert assessment. This event evaluates the band program as a whole. This includes the way the instruments are played, the quality of the sound produced and the directors of the program. This event takes place at Western Kentucky University in April. Our band worked so hard and achieved a distinguished rating!!
